Thanks for the info. I did go to the site you mention and read several of the posts. They were all helpful in their own way. still have a lot of research to do.

There is a lot of first-hand information on this forum. Just use the search box at the top of the page. We might be able to give you better information if we knew a little more about you.....age, physical condition.

Most people who have a diversion, whichever it is, adapt well and are able to lead normal, active lives.

Hello and welcome to our forum... I am very sorry for your diagnosis. It is truly a mind-numbing thing to hear for you and your wife. There are several members here who have both of the diversions you mentioned and can offer their experience when they see your post. In the meantime, here is a link that was posted by Alan to another person looking at the diversion options:

Please post any other questions you have. Again, we are happy you found us.

Best wishes... Catherine

My sympathy on the shock and dismay you'll be feeling with your diagnosis. I have an ileal conduit after radical cystectomy done October 2011. Hard as it is to imagine right now, life does return to a "new" normal, and after a few ups and downs, it is nothing as strange as you are imagining it to be.
I belong to several other online groups. One has been particularly useful, and I would recommend checking it out.

If you type "Indian pouch vs ileal conduit" into the Find It box in the upper right corner, you will see many previous responses to your question.

Good luck and best wishes.

I was just diagnosed with high risk bladder cancer. Have had several test over the last few month to find this out. I live in Rochester NY adn will be treated URMC. My next step is to have my bladder removal. I am trying to decide whcih procedure I want to go with. The neo bladder is way down the list as I had to have scar tisssue removed to be able to get the scope in to do the biopsi. My DR says there is a good chance that it can come back and would require more surgery to remove it again. I have to make a decision real quick because of the advaance stage and the size of the tumor. I am 62 and have never been sick. This has thrown my wife and I for a loop. I would appreciate hearing about experiences with the Indiana pouch and Ileal conduit to help me make a decision. Thanks in advance
