It begins as "Low malignant potential"

Goducks,

I'm wondering if you had a bladder spasm. :-/ Did your Doctor give you meds for spasms? My doctor always made sure that I had plenty of meds after TUR's in case I had spasms. I've never had a spasm, but according to other posters they are pretty painful.

Wishing you luck on the outcome of your biopsy.

Regards,
Rosemary

After I had my TUR done I had blood in my urine which they said would clear up in time and it did. I also had a stent put in my ureter because I had a blocked left kidney. Now with that it hurt some when I was almost done going. As far as the burning I had no more then I did before I got the TUR done. As far as hurting to the point of passing out or feel like passing out my answer to that is no. Now as far as your wife is concerned yes they are all worried about us or vice versa. I would agree with your wife if you were surfing the net checking everything out cause you will drive yourself nuts. But this is a great forum with good people who can answer most questions you have. I'll tell you this goducks I personally have got alot of support here and many questions answered and I be lost without this forum because here people care about eachother. We are all different but here you get to exchange experiences and find out things that others may have that are similar to you. If you have bladder cancer this is where you wanna be and this is the best forum on the net plus their website blcwebcafe.org. Best Wishes, Joe

Sorry, Messed that up. Let's start over: Hello, NH. Nope, no pain at all during the bleeding episode and yes, that was the first time I have ever had blood in the urine. It did not reoccur, but, never having seen it before, I called the Doc the next day and have been on this path since, first with testing by my regular Doc, then the referral and now post-TURBT.

Welcome goducks71,

I am new here myself. Did you have pain during the bleeding episode?

Was that the first time you had blood in your urine?

Hello, from a New Guy, folks, and first, let me say thank you to all who post here, as, since being diagnosed three weeks ago, I have read most of the content of this forum - my wife thinks more than I should have read, as some of you have been through hell. Also, next to what most of you are going through, I feel like I am whining about a stubbed toe After a one time appearance of blood in the urine following a workout, the usual tests led me to a urologist who wanted to "Have a look." Well, no fun, but at least he looked with a flexible scope. After the look he wanted to have a cut. So, last Monday I had my first TURBT and this Wednesday the Doc will give me the results of the biopsy, but he seems 95% sure that this is "carcinoma of low malignant potential." The day after the surgery he removed the catheter and I felt pretty normal, so I went back to work the second day and proceeded through my week. But, then yesterday morning, around 6 AM, urinating hurt far more than it had previously and I wound up on the floor drenched in sweat: not sure if I passed out or not. Eventually that passed, but now every time I go, it sure as heck hurts, which it never did pre-surgery. The nurse had told me it would only hurt bad a couple of times. Maybe I was too active after surgery, so am spending the weekend staying down and quiet, but planning to go back to work again tomorrow, Monday. So far, I am not especially worried, but am wondering if I can expect my urinary tract to return to normal operation anytime soon.
