The 3 \"C\"s - Compassion, Concern, Comfort

11 years 1 week ago #21655 by Melodie
Hi All,

I'm not sure this is where I should place this comment but it's where I tend to go most often...I just don't get there often enough these days.

When I first found the forum in March 07, what held my attention the most was the fact that the folks on the site offered compassion, concern and comfort. I found I could go to other sites for information but this one held what I needed most in addition to information....hope.

A few months back I felt like the forum was changing...the atmosphere seemed to lose some of its warmth and caring caracteristics...and this was due to various personalities ....some who came on with comments that were less than kind, if not just outright mean spirited. One in particiular would comment on just about everything without having any real substance to many of the comments. I know that Cynthia has addressed some of those concerns and I am sure that is much appreciated by many of us. Thank you Cynthia!

I have talked with a few others who ceased visiting this site due to the inappropriate actions of a few. How can we help new comers if they find this site and don't see it in the right light. They will be turned off when they need to feel reassured. Let us strive to think our thoughts out before we comment to ensure we are saying what we really mean to say. I think sometimes well meaning individuals just don't choose their words carefully enough. Other times, someone perhaps means to be unkind. There is no place or space here for those kinds of thoughts. Our words should be encouraging, supportive, kind, caring, compassionate, non-judmental, etc. Let's have this site be a safe haven.
