Second Biopsy Result Changed 3 Months After The Fact!!!

4 years 4 months ago #58688 by Shacky73
I'm floored. In seeking a second opinion from Dr. Bochner at MSK I went back into My Chart from University of Rochester to see about having my tissue samples sent to Dr. Bochner for his review. Low and behold I see that my result from August 15 has been updated as of 4 PM November 26 with a change in diagnosis.

It went from:
**ORIGINAL REPORT DATED 8/15/2019**
Urinary bladder, "tumor bed", transurethral resection:
- Benign urothelium with post-biopsy site changes. See Comment.
- No residual tumor identified.
Comment:
Muscularis propria is present and uninvolved.

To:
** AMENDMENT 11/26/2019 **
This is an amendment to the original report. The original diagnosis has
been changed.
Urinary bladder, "tumor bed", transurethral resection:
- Non-invasive high-grade papillary urothelial carcinoma. See Comment.
- No muscularis propria is present for evaluation.
- No lymphovascular invasion is identified.

I let URMC know on November 23 (Friday) that I was meeting with Dr. Bochner for a second opinion on November 27 and to expect requests for my records. Two business days later my biopsy gets reevaluated with 2 significant changes.

It goes from benign to papillary urothelial carcinoma and from muscularis present and uninvolved to no muscularis is present for evaluation!!! It's like it was two different samples.

WTF! Has anyone ever seen anything like this?
