Here is hoping all you have is irritation spots, no cancer!

Of course it is possible to take biopsy samples during a cystoscopy. I actually had that done once when there was just one little spot he was pretty sure was BCG irritation. OUCH!!! I survived it, and it was just one "little" SNIP. But for a real biopsy sample, where tissue is cut out in a size large enough for good pathology, NO NO NO. It would be too painful!

To be really sure of what is going on in the bladder, enough tissue needs to be taken to insure that the margins and some of the muscle are present.

Wow, hope it is nothing. My doctor does the bladder biopsy during the cystoscopy of he sees anything suspicious. I wonder why you have to go back for a biopsy? I know the prostate is a whole different issue, but they could do the bladder biopsy during the cystoscopy based on my experience.

At any rate, good luck with it and hopefully you will have no problems!

12/2015 - TURBT, non-invasive T1, mixed grade, 3 tumors
1/2016 - Begin BCG weekly for 6 weeks
