After 2 TURBTS for a 2cm noninvasive HG PC, I am finally beginning my first series of BCG treatments on 12/27. I took that day and the day after off because I don't know what to expect. I read some get fatigued after, some have more severe after effects and still others have no side effects. Here's hoping this will be my last, but as it was HG I'm prepared for recurrence at some point down the road,

God bless all of you in this group and my prayers for those who have it worse.

8/9/16: 2cm tumor found on CT
8/10/16: cystoscopy
8/18/16: TURBT; HG Non-Invasive
9/29/16: 2nd TURBT clear
Completed first BCG regimen: 1/31/17

I had my first of six BCG treatments today and I have had no issues. No urgency, no burning , no fatigue, no razors. It kind of scares me. Maybe my doc didn't refrigerate my meds? Anyway, I hope I feel this good from here on out and I hope this works!

Also, my doc is closed Christmas week. He says it's okay to miss a week in between treatments. I hope that's right.

08/16/16 - TURBT - 1 tumor, T1HG, 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm x 1.8 cm, non-invasive papillary.
BCG treatments (15 doses total - last March, 2018). As of latest cysto, As of May 4, 2023 - cancer free!

Had my 1st week of the 3 week maintenance for the 4th time yesterday. What I read over a year ago somewhere about each maintenance gets tougher didn't pan out with me. Yesterday was not that bad, very little burning, urgency still there, especially when I stand up, but overall, better than I expected. 2 more BCG's, then a month later the Cysto and I'll find out then if I'm going 3 months or 6 months for my next BCG? I hope everyone else is doing well! Jay

heather79: That statement everyone is different is so true. I'm about to start my 4th maintenance round of 3 weeks and people have said it gets worse each time? I found it wasn't as bad each round? Go figure. I'm sure everyone has told you to drink afterwards and that is true. Lots of water and chicken soups seems to do the flushing trick for me. I've tried other things that just didn't seem to work. Keep positive, it's tough, but it does help. You'll be posting good stuff online before you know it:-) Jay
