He had a tumor removed from his bladder. It was large. The scar tissue in his urethra is from surgery, and all the catheterization with the the BCG treatments he had. He just isn't sure about having a third surgery, if anyone else has experience with this any advice or insight would be much appreciated. He doesn't do well with anesthesia and he has been through a lot. If he has to get the surgery he will but as of now his urologists says he is not sure and wants to hold off. Any one who has had similar issues with scarring and trouble Urinating after surgery and BCG your input would be greatly appreciated

Did he have some tissues removed from the urethra for the biopsy? Or did he get the scar tissue from a catheter? Anyway, it's much better to be cancer free even with a scar.Hopefully the scar problem will be fixed for him soon.

Hi. My dad was diagnosed with superficial bladder cancer in July. He had a large tumor removed from his bladder and since then has had issues with scarring in his urethra. He has had surgery once to remove scar tissue but it came back. Now he may need a another procedure done where they take tissue from his gums in mouth and put them into the urethra so that he is able to urinate. Right now he is cancer free but needs to straight cath every day to keep his urethra open. Has anyone had issues with scar tissue or had this surgery done ? Thank you so much for your time.
