...and the other thing that Lamm has said is basically that so far his reduced dose regimen has not shown reduced efficacy.

When I asked him about it a couple (or maybe a few) years ago, it was because I wanted to know why they don't just start with much reduced doses rather than waiting for people to have problems as it seemed like it would increase the success rate and greatly decrease the dropout rate.

The answer was funding of the research. Still, it seems that he has continued with using lower and lower doses and still has not found reduced efficacy.

Some day....they may be starting off with a 1/10th dose and reducing from there. Who knows.

Keep in mind that the dose strength comes from the required for a TB Vaccine and it is administered a completely different way. The six treatments in a series aspect comes from the fact that it comes in a six pack when you buy it from the supplier.

After all my problems with BCG last spring - I wrote Dr Lamm and this was his reply:

We go as low as 1%. You can also reduce retention to 30 minutes or less.
I also sometimes give heat inactivated BCG to those who do not tolerate
live BCG.

Sara Anne,

If the 1/3 causes trouble, I think you go to 1/10th. You may want to ask Dr. Lamm about it.

All the best!

Wonderful news for you!!! Good luck on the new round of BCG treatments perhaps with the lower dosage the side effects will not be as troublesome.
