Update as to treatment. Dr at Hopkins indicated that the displasia is not very meaningful. His recommendation is to let the bladder heal for three more months have a repeat cysto and then we can revisit BCG maintenance.

Had my follow up cysto last week. Little history:
11/21/07 dx,Turbt 12/05/07, 4cm low grade TCC non invasive
opted for 6 weeks BCG, little side effects, stent for 2 weeks
04/25/08 cysto, cytology and Fish negative, 3 pathologist at lab showed displasia, another opinion showed focal CIS
05/05/08 Turbt to remove more of site, cytology negative, kidney wash negative, 2 patholist at hospital showed no sign of cancer, same second opinion patholigist as on 04/25/08 showed focal CIS. Stent placed in for 8 weeks
07/27/08- Cysto negative, cytology negative, Dr. suggested need to let bladder rest for 3 months before recommending treatment.
10/16/08- Cysto, two biopsies taken, one negative, one Displaysia, cytology atypical cells. Waiting to hear what treatment to start again. The three months the bladder has improved greatly from a standpoint of frequency etc. No longer get up at night and can go 4 hours without relieving.
The cautious news I guess is that the displaysia and atypical cells could be a warning of another cancer visit. Hopefully the recommendation will be the 3 week BCG maintenance that could clear this up.
