Hi all,
Dropping in to say I got the results of my last cysto
on Friday..I'm clean..That makes 3 in a row.
Also, result of prostate biopsy was good..No prostate
cancer.
Bad news is I made a routine trip to my dermatologist
for a check up...He spotted something on my nose
he wanted to check out so he did a biopsy.
Long story short..Turns out I have skin cancer.
Basal cell carcinoma..I am going for what is called
"Mohs" surgery on Nov.11 to remove this growth.
BTW,the growth is very subtle..I never even noticed it.
Bit of advice, get a "derm" exam at least once a year.
Best of luck to all,
Max

First, I'm very happy to hear about the all clear. About the skin cancer -- My husband had a similar cancer on the back of his ear removed via conventional surgery, but it recurred within a year, so his dermatologist sent to him to another specialist who does the Mohs procedure. The Mohs worked like a charm, and he's had no further problems. You are right about it being a "subtle" type of skin cancer -- my husband's initial manifestation was a tiny red line that didn't heal, and the recurrence was just a rough slightly itchy area near the scar from the first surgery. Best of luck with your procedure.
