Hi, Julieann -- I think it is a good question about whether, for those of us with
mets, further scanning is a good idea. I am, like you describe your mama, feeling well. In fact, the only thing that objectively reminds me of my "condition" is scans. My oncologist did a brain scan recently because he says we like to treat
brain mets aggressively because, undiscovered, they can cause "dramatic" and catastropic occurences. MY brain scan came out clean and clear.
But if they do not treat other mets if we do not get chemo,I wonder about
the usefulness of further scans. I hope folks with perspectives about
that will reply to you inquiry. Maybe additional scan help gauge life
expectancy or identify locations of mets that may cause trouble that can
be prevented with interventions. I don't know -- I am glad to hear your
