I completed BCG in October and was clear in first checkup in late November. Slated for 3 weeks maintenance BCG in Late January with next check up in March. Feel good and back to hobbies of remodeling house and motor home trips.

I AM A RETIRED SUBMARINER AND WAS A HEAVY SMOKER UNTIL 1981. THERE ARE MANY BOAT SAILORS FROM PRE-NUKE DAYS SHOWING UP ON BLADDER CANCER ROLLS. EXPOSURE TO CHEMICAL FUMES HAVE BEEN SHOWN TO BE A POSSIBLE CAUSE. VA IS HAVING TO LOOK AT THESE CANCERS ONLY BECAUSE THE SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THE GREASE. TRY CONTACTING SOME OF THE VETS YOU SERVED WITH AND SEE IF ANYONE ELSE IS HAVING THE PROBLEM. i HAD A RE-OCCURRENCE AND START BCG TREATMENT 8/26. GOOD LUCK AND HOPE YOU HAVE A POSITIVE OUTCOME,

Oldcarnut, I understand, my husband receives compensation for his type 2 diabetes that is a presumptive for AO et al. Just wanted you to know that there is research out there for BC/AO connection. We have filed a claim, via VSO's within the counties we live in. They are great and the one we are using now for a reopened claim is excellent. We have been dealing with this one on basis and getting claims approved for BC.

I do receive compensation from the VA but it is not for BC. I can't say if your BC is service-connected but if you think it might be you should go to one of the service organizations such as the VFW, American Legion or DAV. They will counsel you and determine the validity of your case. I prefer the DAV because ALL they do is help veterans file claims and lobby congress.

Oldcarnut, have you applied for and received service connected BC VA comp? It's difficult to say the least.
