Our insurance co would only send the Neulasta to our house, go figure.
He also took Emend at the start of each cycle, Kytril, Phenegran (didn't need this one as much the Kytril really worked) & Duke's Magic Mouthwash. These
meds worked very well for him. He was always tired but never "sick". but you are right, they aren't cheap! Good Luck to you!!!
Ps He also took something for"acid reflux" during his chemo period, Protonix I think.

Belle I saw the neulasta shot thing. I too am on MVAC and I got my first shot last Friday. I have to get it done at the hospital where I am being treated I have Keystone 65 and they don't cover that particular drug but if done in hospital they got no choice they have to pay for it. Dang I found out that shot costs around $2800. My wife is nurse and could give it to me. Also I could do it myself lol it is just a shot in the muscle of the arm. I know there isn't nothing cheap about chemo but 2 seconds and bam $2800 amazing. Best Wishes, Joe

My brother-in-law was in a bad car accident back in 1977. He broke his neck C5 and and he spent a couple of years getting therapy here and there and he is walking again sometimes with cane or long walks he needs his crutches a true miracle. Anyway this lucky son of a gun got quite a few dates from the younger nurses that cared for him. He went and was shown how to do these shots and they must work cause man oh man did he toot his horn lol. He's is now in his late 40's now and I know he stills uses for those special moments lol, Good Luck, Joe :)

Congrats!

Which injectable did your doctor give you?

Could be interesting for us... My husband had our neighbor (who is a nurse) give him his Neulasta inj
during his MVAC cycles. He hates needles!

REPORT ON SHOTS!!!
This may be a bit premature but I was just to excited to share. Went to the Uro today for my intro to injection therapy. I am VERY pleased with the result after the initial "experiment". My Fience joined me while the Dr demonstrated AND shot me up. Guess the base of the penis has very little feeling or the needle was so very small but seriously there was just the slightest poke. NO pain at all and I am a real whimp!

'bout 10 minutes later Mr Happy started to wake up ;). Within 15 I had my first real erection! I did not get the Viagra effects of flush-face or stuffiness. None of the Muse burning or iritation. This was the most natural feeling erection I've had since 2 nights before surgery! I can not explain how wonderful this made me feel. The Dr had stepped out just after he injected me and I must say if the door had a lock, Yoli (my gal) would have joined the "Exam Room Club".

Unfortunatly I had to return to work and she had another appt so it was really a waste of a good erection but still the same, made me feel good just to feel so natural. We were really looking forward to getting home tonight and putting the shot to practice... that's when the Dr informed us that you can only have one per day :(

Well... there is always tomorrow but I wanted to share what I could. Further updates soon.

Believe in yourself,
Mike
