Another GREAT post to help us all look back at ourselves...
as patients and as wives/husbands/caregivers...
and as always great advice shared by the regulars above.

In my case, the morphine was a bear for me,
then the vicodin was total madness, much worse,
stopping the induction of that 'stuff'
into my body helped tremendously.

And congrats to you lady,
pat yourself on the back for maintaining control
while he, the culprit, was "out there"...
Sounds like you have done your part and then some.

I just read my last post, and I realize it sounded kind of "odiferous?" Anyway, what I meant was, I was glad to be home and not driving. The gas problem was that it WOULDN'T pass. I know you've all talked about the "waking up" process, but he was so uncomfortable that we all lost our tempers.

Much better today. And he had left-over sushi, so his appetite is starting to get better. And no, I didn't get to the fried cabbage, altho he did ask for home-made burritos on Monday night, and that might have contributed.

I just make sure he has lots of fruit. And my sister suggested that he sleep on his left side, to keep things moving.

Glad the path report discussion went well and your husband is feeling more himself.Its normal to sleep more after surgery the GA takes a while to work its way out of the system.I was very short tempered and I cant imagine any one not being I was sore uncomfortable and very frightened so always teetering on the edge of either a tantrum or tears.
He will feel better and things will improve I hope that his recovery continues to go well and the chemo is not too awful.
Dont forget to take care of yourself.

Wonderful to hear this went so well. Good luck with everything. This is such a frightening time for you, but it sounds as if you both are handling it very well. I read a quote today - Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it - -this is so true.

I think you've earned a break. Turn on a faucet instead.
