Dad had Radical Cystectomy

8 years 1 month ago #41978 by DebiLMT
Hello All,

I have been lurking around since my dad was diagnosed in February with bladder cancer. He had RC on April 25th and just got the good news that none of his lymph nodes showed any sign of cancer. All of his margins were clear.

BUT, it was also discovered that same day that he has DVT. He has formed a blood clot in his left calf. It is causing him pain and he is required to self-inject blood thinners on a daily basis.

Up until this point, Dad was doing great. He had a great outlook but it seems that the DVT has pushed him over the edge and he is not eating and seems very withdrawn and sad. I don't know what to do to help him through this. :S Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Debi
