Good idea Julie. I used to do that with Cipro when I traveled to India and the Philippines.

Glad you are doing better!! Maybe your Dr could give you a script of Bactrim to have when traveling out of the country. Mine did just for Florida. (nice to have if I need it)

Mike, You should have put a little sand, and coral in the bag for good measure. Don't be to hard on yourself. We all do silly things.
Bactrim will have you back on the lead lap, in no time.

Yeah. I can't believe how utterly stupid I was. I always throw the catheter away after only one use if I am in a hospital or if I use it on an airplane. I wasn't even drinking and for some reason I figured, "Oh well, zip-lock baggie with catheter full of sea water? Just dump the sea water, slather on the lube stuff, use it and then rinse it in the sink." Duh!!!

Had lots of fun in Cancun though. We went snorkeling with whale sharks. Biggest was around 40 feet long. It was a blast. Lots of relaxation time on the beach.

On Bactrim now. Was some blood in the urine also so I'm assuming that is certainly inflamed and that explains the burning sensation.

Thanks Pat and Jim!

oooh...used same catheter all the time..what did you rinse it out with..the wonderful water from Mexico or bottled or sea water?? Bet your lining is inflamed. When in Mexico do not re-use catheters. Hope it resolves quickly with antibiotics.
