Suddenly loads of Mucus

Hi Clur,
I just thought I would add a bit of info I found for my Dad. This was in a post-op instruction list I found on-line:

"Because the new bladder is made out of bowel it will
produce mucus (which the bowel makes to ease the
passage of faeces). This mucus can accumulate and
sometimes make it difficult to pass urine. We
recommend that you drink 2 glasses of cranberry
juice per day as this helps to reduce the build up of
mucus"

Thanks problem solved I was up most of the night with an upset stomach the mucus is obviously going to be my early warning system.

How long ago did you have your surgery? I remember in the beginning mucuus actually shot out of my cath across the room...very intertaining!! This lessons over time but i still get a lot of mucuus when i eat icecream in particular. And also after a CT scan it gets very irritable...must be the barium. I also notice if i get a case of diarhea which i do much more frequently for whatever reason my pouch also produces a lot of mucuus.

Any dietary or medical changes? Antibiotics (cephadrine) make me as mucousy as anything in my neobladder. I was shocked at the amount of mucous. Also, if I have an upset stomach then my neo bladder responds sometimes by producing loads of mucous. Dairy in large quantities works too!

I have never really had a problem with this but the last few days I have suddenly started producing quite a lot of mucus through my stoma.I have done a wash out which produced loads of the stuff its quite sticky.
Any ideas?
