Rick,
I know your surgery is coming up in just a few days. I know the waiting is hard, but you will soon be on your way. Know you have done your home work, so all will go well.
Hope it goes as well for you as Andy's just went, but don't count on it. You will do okay on your own sweet time!
Will be pulling for you and wishing you the best!

Just one thing.
don't make a habit of starting and stopping your urine stream. Doing Kegel exercises with a full bladder or while emptying your bladder can actually weaken the muscles. It can also lead to incomplete emptying of the bladder, which increases your risk of a urinary tract infection

3 sets of 10 a day is plenty..you don't have to overdo it.

Thanks Dr. Mike-n-stien. I was looking all over for that link.
I finally found it, and you beat me to it. Good job.

Hox, I found the exercise's most sucsessful. I continue to do the roll in's(ball), and roll out's(strap), along with Kegels daily. I will continue to do them, till i'm a year post op. I am dry by day,
and minimal leaking at night. I get up once a night to void, which helps. Maybe the exercise's aren't helping at all, since others are doing equally as well without them. I just prefer to take any steps to make/keep me dry. Jim

Also, I would encourage you to walk a couple miles a day, which also strengthens the pelvic floor muscles, and makes you stronger going into surgery.

I also drank Ensure for a couple weeks leading up to surgery.

Rick,

This is something Jim posted to Andy and it has exercises beyond just the kegels.
