Statistically, the 5 (and 10) year survival rate is VERY high.
I agree with Pat. It seems that it would make perfect sense for people to drop off this site after a couple/few years. If one finds themselves cured, they would potentially want to put it behind them.
It's a great tool when you need it and many enjoy giving back by contributing and helping others long after they have been through the experience. But it also does make sense that people would want to move on at some point.
Personally, after I had my first bout with bladder cancer two years ago, I was all over this site. I read everything here as well as researching everything I could. Then, after a few "all clears", I dropped off completely. When it came back, I came back. Everyone handles things in their own way. I expect that if I have a few years of "all clear" now that I have a neobladder, I will probably drop off again. The questions I asked and answers I recieved as well as answers I gave others will remain and hopefully help others with similar questions though. However, at some point I hope and pray to put cancer behind me.
