Char...i only had to take it for 6 months and i ate a pretty consistent diet so my INR did not change drastically but i did have to have it tested weekly until they were sure i was on the right dosage...after about 4 weeks i only had the test done monthly. Here's a little sheet on diet and coumadin

Thanks everyone for your responses they make me feel better. Pat they are saying DVT found it on an ultrasound. Hopefully the cumidin is a short term problem I think it is what's causing my lack of appetite.

Welcome Home, Charlotte!

What a lousy thing to happen....but it seems if you are going to get a blood clot it will happen while doing chemo. Funny - I had open-heart surgery two years ago to replace my aortic valve and chose a tissue valve because I did not want to have to take cumadin the rest of my life. Now, as a result of DVT, I will have to anyway.

Hope you get your appetite back because it is soooooo important that you eat! We've missed you.
