Thanks, Rick, gene doesn't use his nite bag, leaves his day bag on, empties twice in the nite, so he is free to move about.. he wears the elastic belt, it hooks up to sides of his bag...works for him!!!! thanks for the info though, if he starts stinking up the place I will be sure to get him some,, Ginger
When my Dad's urine has a strong odor, it usually indicates a UTI. And, he does have a night bottle which he hooks up at bedtime. It holds about 2000ccs of urine and is washed with vinegar and water each morning and left to air dry. The tubing is long enough that Dad can sleep on either side and roll around if he wants to. He had the night drainage bag at first, but really prefers the night bottle collection system.
Also, be very careful about drinking a LOT of water. My Dad did this and ended up in the hospital with low electrolytes, especially sodium. He washed all the good stuff out and had to have them put back in via IV. The doc told him to drink GatorAde and cranberry juice and V8 and other things besides just water.
I use the same night bag for about a month before getting a new one. Early on I had a high sensitivity to smells. With my night bag nearly next to my head when I sleep, I could smell the urine at night that escaped from the small vent. "Whoo-Noz" eliminates the smells. The lable is very simple - not alot of money spent on the design. However it does state, "Satisfaction Guarenteed or your money back". I the 250 tablet jar cost $30.26.
