Bladder lesion outlook

2 months 1 day ago #58779 by sara.anne
I really sympathize with you....the uncertainty and waiting can be more difficult than getting the diagnosis! And remember that it is possible that this isn't cancer. You really won't know until the pathology report comes in after the TURB.

You will find many recommendations from "Dr Internet" on diets and vitamins and supplements that will not only cure cancer but will even grow hair B) Beware of these. A healthy diet and life style are always a good idea but no one has any rational information on anything else. And, as Alan mentioned, any tumors have been growing for quite a while.
Other than smoking or exposure to a few chemicals no real cause of bladder cancer is known.

IF you do have bladder cancer it is very possible that it has been found early. Depending on the exact pathological diagnosis there are some very effective treatments available and after this "bump in the road" your life can continue normally.

Keep us informed as to how this goes.

Welcome Larryh,

To answer directly to your two questions. Probably good to abstain on spicy foods just in case. On improving outcomes. Whatever is there has probably been there for some time. 6 months maybe 12 or more.Being a non smoker is a big plus. I have learned you simply must take it one day at a time. That is all you can control. Beyond that it is all guesswork and non productive. You won't know anything until the TURB is done and the pathology report is done. There have simply been too many surprises and wrong guesses. Please keep posting as you go.

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.
