I had a radical ileal cystostomy in June. Everything has gone relatively well except that about a month ago my urine suddenly turned red in the bag. I went to see my urologist and he did not seem concerned since I had no fever or pain. He did take a urine sample but has not informed me of the result.
The condition cleared up within a week so I did not press. He really seemed not to be concerned at all and his basic attitude seemed to be "what do you expect me to do about it"
The condition has now returned I and have placed calls to my urologist and napharlogist. Has anyone experienced this situation?
It would not be unusual to find something like this after such a radical surgery, even a few months out. It is possible that a stitch came loose or a scab came off. BUT you do want to know. Keep calling the urologist!!
