Cystectomy University Of Washington, Seattle or Virginia Mason

Boat,

Welcome. I am not familiar with either hospital so maybe someone else will comment. Whoever does the procedure... make sure they are doing at least 25-35 of these a year. This is so much more and different than the prostatic cancer that most see the most of. I am also linking a good summary of the 3 different diversions that may put to rest any questions: my.clevelandclinic.org/health/treatments/12546-urinary-reconstruction--diversion

Keep posting as you have questions, some one will respond.

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

It appears that I may be looking at a radical cystectomy in my near future.
So far my choice of reconstruction would be COR commonly known as the Indiana Pouch.
I am curious if there are any UW/Seattle Cancer Care Alliance patients here who can share their RC with me?
I may have two choices... The second being Virginia Mason.

Thank you for any information you may provide.
