Excellent news! We have to watch insurance company statements Many years ago I went in for a mammogram and when the billing information came the insurance company had been billed for both the mammogram and a barium enema. I was quite positive I had not had latter procedure !

You should appeal this, or have your urologist write an explanation. I DARE them to go into a pharmacy with a "prescription" and walk out with a vial of BCG. This is a treatment done in the doctor's office NOT a prescription.
Some idiot clerk misunderstood.

Thank you. My insurance paid for all my mitomycin treatments and my first 3 BCG treatments but now on my recent claim they are saying that it only a prescription medication and paying next to nothing.
In the US Medicare pays for BCG treatments as do most other insurances . BCG is considered the standard of care for high-grade or recurring non-Invasive bladder cancer. I would be surprised if an insurance did not cover this . But to be sure you should check with your insurance company if this is a concern
