Hi all. I am a 37 y/o female. Quit smoking 15 years ago and was never a really heavy smoker. I suffer from extreme and I mean EXTREME health anxiety. My body hyperfocuses on any symptom and runs with it. To the point, I had a CT scan in the hospital on Monday which was mostly normal, but incidentally found “mild thickening along anterior bladder wall secondary to underdistension. Infectious or inflammatory cystits cannot be ruled out”. So now I am convinced I have bladder cancer. I have never had blood either gross or microscopic detected in my urine. I do urinate frequently, but I also drink a lot of water and I have urinated frequently for as long as I can remember. My primary care dr said this was non issue. He referred me to a urologist but really tried to push that I not “feed the monster” and go. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Please remember that none of us are doctors, so our opinions are worth what you are paying for them. But nothing you mention seems related to bladder cancer. Please take your doctor’s advice. The urologist visit should help put your worries to rest.
