Donna Sue,
In the same situation - blood in urine, and told to "wait for results" I went to the net and panicked, until I found this site, with people who have actually been there.
Calm down. enjoy the holidays. Nothing is going to happen fast, no matter how much we want instant results and answers. The medical system just does not work that way. And it apparently does not need to. A few days her, a couple of weeks there does not matter in the grand scheme of things.
You are on the right track - If urology finds anything suspicious, you will wait weeks for a biopsy, then 2 more weeks for a biopsy report - all happening in system time.
Blood in the urine indicating cancer is far less than a 1/2 of 1% chance, even in high risk populations. BUT, since cancer is a possible diagnosis, it must be ruled-out.
Believe me, it is OK to relax and enjoy. Just be sure to keep the follow up appointments. I learned that on this site a couple of years ago, and it is true.
Best
Jack
