biopsy during cystoscopy

If you are getting biopsies normally you are under a light anesthesia at a day surgery or hospital setting. Simply to keep you out should they end up having to dig deeper and limit unusual pain. I certainly would not allow the office. So, to answer directly, no it is not normal.

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

I had TURB last July, cancer removed, chemo wash. low grade noninvasive.

Follow up scope ~ looked good.
Next scope, looked good.

Scope on Tues not so good.

right side of bladder looked fine ~ went to left side and saw a spot that the doctor called 'suspicious'.
And another and another.

He wants to do a scope and take biopsies and 'burn' these spots.

I was in shock and didn't ask questions ~ I never thought I would have to worry about this again.

This will be done in office. Is this normal?

I trust and love my doctor, I just wish I had asked questions.
