Thank you Anne. I get my results this Thursday, so at that point at least I know what I'm faced with.

I just remember U. of Michigan has a well respected unit. You still want a bladder specialist withing the group. health.usnews.com/best-hospitals/area/mi/university-of-michigan-hospitals-and-health-centers-6440110

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

I join Catherine in welcoming you! Of course, none of us WANT to be here!

Until you get the path report you really don't know what you might be facing, or what your urologist might recommend. I think that would be the first step. Then you can evaluate this information and decide if a second opinion is in order. Members of this forum may have suggestions at that point, if they seem warranted.

And, as Catherine said, most bladder cancer is very treatable.

Wishing you all the best

Hello Dan... Welcome to our forum. I'm sure at 52, this is not a place you expected to be seeking out, but we are glad you found us. Hopefully you can be rid of that catheter soon. And yes, waiting for that path report is so very nerve wracking and scary. It wouldn't be normal if you weren't freaking out a bit, but keep in mind that IF it is bc, it is also very treatable. There are many of us here that can vouch for that.

I am not familiar with your area, but some others here may be as far as any recommendations. You are correct in that a urologist who sees many cases of bladder cancer is of utmost importance. In the meantime, our Treatment Center Finder may be helpful. It is under the Help menu above. Or here is a link:

Please stay in touch and feel free to post any questions you may have. We are here to help as much as we can by sharing our own experiences and knowledge.

Best wishes... Catherine
