Going in Monday for my first Cystoscopy. Microscopic Hematuria was found in March on a visit for a regular physical. First CT Scan in over 13 years last week reported a soft tissue density 1.5 cm in trigone area. Radiologist impression is that is is most likely from post prostate surgery changes. I had my prostate removed back in 2002. Then 40 days of radiation IMRT 3 months later. The prostate cancer is gone but I know I have an increased risk of BC. In very good shape and have no other symptoms of any type.
But this brings to mind "the scope"
My Dr is kind of old school and his equipment is kinda old so my experience is probably different.
He couldn't afford one of those fancy miniature camera's so he built one of his own.
Just strapped a Kodak instamatic camera to a flexable rod and pushes it right in. Since I have no prostrate anymore, the procedure is easier. It really doesn't hurt until he uses the flash cube and it rotates so he can flash again! And the pictures are clearly not HD as we can hardly make out if this is my bladder or someones ultrasound pictures of their six week fetus. Like I'm gonna know. But Dr Fraunk-in-steen says everything will work out in the end..... He hopes.
If this sounds crazy and I sound like I'm making light of this...... You are correct! I am trying to make you laugh. I will get you through all of this.
Yes, it is serious, this cancer thing. But keep your perspective on the prize... Life
Best of luck. And I hope you don't need us for long
Light a man a fire and he is warm for an evening.
Light a man ON fire and he's warm forever.

Had my Cysto today and it was normal. Cytology was also benign. The hematuria was from my prior prostate radiation (large blood vessels in bladder) the soft tissue density anamoly in the CT Scan reading didn't show anything on Cysto - again most likely due to radiation changes in the bladder. I wish everyone the best of health. Thank you for your kind comments and support.
