Hello!

So she went through the 6 mitomyicin treatments (only side effect was some fatigue) and a follow up to look inside and the dr said he didn't see any regrowth. He wants to do mitomyicin in november and ctyo in dec - repeat in March and April - Any thoughts?

Yes, it is not uncommon....they are both manifestations of transitional cell carcinoma. I had both....and just had my 8 year all clear.

Hello is it common for someone to have a papillary tumor AND a red spot (CIS)?

So your friend just had a TURB. This is the first of probably two. Another one in a few weeks to make sure there are "clean margins" (No cancer) Then the protocol is BCG treatments to hopefully make sure the cancer is gone. We hope.
Bladder cancer has a nasty habit of coming back. And if it escapes the bladder wall..... It is EXTREMELY dangerous and very deadly.

I know nothing of a "pill" that you can take to stop this. But it would be nice!

I am really hoping that the pathology shows no cancer. If there is cancer, I hope it is low grade and has not into the bladder wall.

But bladder cancer is not to be trifled with. It is a very nasty thing. Follow the Dr's advice...... get a second opinion..... be aggressive.
And lean on us for any rants and fears that you may have. Cuz we've had em too.

Sincerely
George

Hello

the surgeon said the surgery went as panned and the tumor is out. A red spot was found next to tumor and he burned it out.he believes the tumor is early stage. Checked kidneys/ureter and no cancer was found.
