Welcome to our very selective club, with rather weird membership requirements! Sorry that you had to join.

If indeed your diagnosis is low grade and localized, your urologist is recommending the standard treatment plan ....which is basically a careful watch. You MUST BE SURE TO KEEP THOSE APPOINTMENTS since bladder cancer has the nasty habit of returning.

If you want to seek a second opinion in the Philadelphia area, I used our site's Treatment Center Finder (under HELP at the top of this page)

Also, if you wanted to travel a bit farther, Johns Hopkins in Baltimore and Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC are world-famous.

Hi, first time posting here. 40 yrs old. Received the call last week (1/9) that they found malignant cells in the growth removed during cysto/TUR. I was taken off guard and am a little hazy of all the details of the call. However, I did clearly hear "small" and "low grade" and that I do not need any medicine at this time. Next course of action would be cysto in 3 months for 2 years, then 6 mos and so on. My follow up appt with the urologist is Friday where I will get more details. I will request the pathology reports as well.

I don't know my Dr that well as I've only met him twice for the initial cysto then following TUR surgery. He seems fine but I would still like to get a second opinion to cover my bases. Can anyone in the Philadelphia or Southern NJ area recommend a urologist or BC specialist in the area? If not, maybe a resource to finding someone.
