Any alternative treatments, such as mitomycin or interferron also require instillation into the bladder.

What was your diagnosis? Is it high grade? low grade? CIS? Depending on the grade of the bladder cancer, receiving the full extent of the BCG treatments could be very important.

This might be an appropriate time to seek a second opinion at a place that sees
LOTS and LOTS of bladder cancer. You can consult the Treatment Finder on the home page, or let us know where you are and someone may have a suggestion.

I began BCG treatment last month. I urologist is having great difficulty placing the catheter because of a urethral stricture and curvature and some prostate.enlargement. of 5 visits only two resulted in having the catheter reach my bladder to place the BCG medication. He claims he has done more than 500 BCG procedures and has never run into this type of problem.
what are the risks in not have the 6 procedures done? are there any alternative treatments?
