What this diagnosis means is that the tissue in the sample was not quite normal....sort of just a bit irregular, but was not showing signs of malignancy. There might be a little irritation of the surface, for example.

The urologist needs to keep a watch on it. In six months, when he does another biopsy, it could be completely normal. He will want to be sure that no malignancy has developed by that time.

Will be keeping fingers crossed for you!

My husbad jusf had a bladder biopsy because of microscopic blood found in his urine. The results were : "Papillary Urothelial Hyperplasia".

His doctor said it was not cancer buthewants to see him again for a repeat biopsy in 6months.

Is anyone on this board familiar with this diagnosis? Any information is appreciated. Should we worry?
Thanks
