Should I worry??

Worry? No, concerned yes. Cynthia and most of us would certainly say get a second opinion. You want a URO practice that see's lots of bladder cancer as many see men mostly for prostatic problems. Even a major hospital or teaching hospital if convenient. This easily could be a stubborn UTI (I assume your Doc has checked) that needs a specialized test. It could be stones that are thrown nicking parts of the urinary tract. It could be a cancer of kidneys or bladder. It could be unknown, intermittent bleeding that some people have and never find a reason (I actually know people that have done this over several years). It could be a "runners" bleeding as some long distance and vigorous workouts make some people pass blood infrequently.

It still begs the question of why 3 exams show hematuria (blood) so get that second opinion. Typically you may get another cysto scope and probably a CT scan with dye that reads the kidneys etc. None of us are doctors so there may even be a few more tests suggested. Here's hoping it is nothing serious-one day at a time!

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

Rule of thumb, if you have to ask if you need a second opinion you probably do. Seek an opinion from a major center such as a university hospital if you can. Good luck and let us know what you find out.

At my last gynecology appointment my doctor informed me that I had blood in my urine. After looking through my records he said I had blood in my urine at my last 2 visits also, which now means three years I have had this. I have no symptoms except very dark brown/red urine in the morning. Hr referred me to a urologist who preformed the scope test and said I was fine not to worry. Since I had this test I now leak urine several times a day, not a lot but enough to be a nuisance. I cant help thinking that blood in the urine for years is ok. Should I seek another opinion?
