Has any had experience with United Healthcare special services benefits for cancer managed through Optum? It's a voluntary participation program through our insurance that suggests improved patient care and reduced out of pocket expenses because one of their nurses will coordinate care.
We are currently working directly with a Center of Excellence which is an in network provider and have full confidence in the patient care currently being provided.
Signing up for the Optum services seems to have the potential to introduce delay or reductions in treatment if Optum has oversight.
Any feedback would be much appreciated.
