It is still too early for a treatment decision. There are so many things to remember and the definitions of words with respect to bladder cancer are somewhat different than with other types of cancer.
"Superficial" means that it is on the surface of the bladder. The pathology report will confirm this. But "superficial" does not indicate anything about the GRADE of the tumor. The pathology report will indicate whether it is "low grade"
meaning unlikely to spread rapidly, or "high grade" meaning it has the potential to spread quickly. If it is low grade, you most likely will be on the cystoscopy-every-three-months watch program. If it is high grade the urologist will probably recommend further treatments, likely BCG.
Of course, bladder cancer has the sneaky habit of returning. It is low grade and does return, the uro would probably recommend BCG or other further treatments.
We will keep our fingers crossed for you!
