Last month I had a TURBT procedure by a bright, young urologist in Phoenix with absolutely zero communication skills. While dissatisfied with communication at the cystoscopy stage, I felt I should go ahead and have him do the procedure to get it done and over with. This was done, so 5 days later I go for the follow up office visit to learn the pathology. To my surprise, the coward sent in a PA that spoke marginal English to tell me I had cancer! He came in 2 minutes later grinning, exclaiming the good news was that he didn't have to remove my bladder. I still can't get past this! I fired him, and moved my "business" to the Cancer Treatment Center of America. So far, an awesome experience with great people who can communicate and seem to really care. But I am still petrified! A second TURBT is scheduled for next month. Sorry. I just need to vent. Supposedly this is T1 S1 non-invasive, but I do not trust the cowardly urologist, so I worry all over again. Arrgh!!!
