cancer seems to get too much credit in these conversations. By minimizing it, I maintain my aggressive attack on the enemy. If you allow your enemy to push you around, then you are one step closer to losing. So.....

It sure is sad. Because It could have been prevented so easily. A Pushy spouse is a great thing! I was the guy who never wanted to go to the Dr. I wnated to wait it out. I saw blood in my urine a couple of times before. It went away and I didn't give it a thought. Just my luck, I had to have a Physica and a urine test was part of it. If I wasn't required to have a physical to keep my licence..... Who knows what would have happened?

MamaD..... You Are RIGHT ON in forcing the old man to go. And you are RIGHT ON coming here! Welcome indeed!

George... so sorry for the loss of your friend. This is a sad story of what might have been preventable with earlier intervention.

MamaD... we're all thinking of you as you head to your appointment tomorrow!

Best wishes... Catherine

This may seem very melodramatic BuT! And It is a BIG Butt thank You! :)

You are most welcome here at ANY stage. ANY Stage.
Your Husband should be Thanking you in a BIG way for taking charge of his health care. This will serve you well in the future when you MUST take Charge of the situation.
This is why.... Today I attended a funeral for an old friend. He was a great guy when our kids were very young and our neighborhood was fun because of him. When I had cancerhe was very concerned. But 2 weeks ago he started to have trouble breathing and sleeping. he didn't visit a Dr. until 3 days ago. he had advanced pneumonia and they couldn't help him.
Just came back from his funeral 10 minutes ago.

Take charge and get pushy. It will pay off in the end.
You husband secretly thanks you.... I know.

Welcome and yes, you did the right thing. I'm not one to go to the doctor over every little thing but even I'm smart enough to know that peeing blood cannot be a good thing.

I also know that ignoring symptoms of diseases increases the damage that can be done.

Glad you have him doing the right things. I hope it isn't bladder cancer but please don't "I told you so!" if it is. He'll realize the error of his ways all on his own.

The thing that is important is that bladder cancer is very treatable if caught early. So going at the first sign of symptoms is the best. Ignoring it, lets it spread and ignoring it too long lets it kill you. That's not the case here so he's on the right track!

Best of luck!
Mike
