Went to urologist yesterday. Will be going into hospital next week or week after. Urologist said he will scrape the mas out. Will have to wait until lab result to find out any other information. The urologist said I will be there over night but that the removal of mast will only take about an hour.
I want to thank you folks who responded to my post. I still don't know how you people have handled this. Thank you so much for being there while you are still dealing with your own cases.
Never thought I would find a support group of heroes. Again thank you all for being there. I live in central Pa.

Most of us on this site know exactly how you feel. We all had the baseball bat across the head moment when we found out we had cancer.

The good news is, we are all survivors on this site! So we welcome you to the survivors group. You will bet through this! But you need to find a cancer Dr. and a hospital that will take proper care of you. You need a Dr. who has done HUNDREDS of these procedures. An assembly line worker who has seen everything and can take you forward to a cure.

bladder cancer is a survivable cancer. Take it from me, the right Dr. and hospital are going to give you a new lease on life.

No one wants to hear they have cancer, it's definitely life changing.

Out on the web most of the information is ok but not very encouraging and the survival statistics are all over the place.
This site on the other hand is used by real people that have gone through or going through bladder cancer treatment. SO DON'T PANIC! Keep in mind most cancers today are very treatable. Wait for the labs and see what the doctor recommends. And never be afraid to ask for a second opinion.

So follow Cynthia's advice and start checking out hospitals and universities listed on the home page that are close to you.

If you have any questions, ask away!

You are talking to people here that have gotten very bad news and are still here years later to talk about it that is the good news.

Until you get your exact diagnosis DO NOT be reading everything there is to read. You are scaring yourself with things that probably do not apply to you. Bladder cancer covers a wide range or possibility and right now your mind will go to the worse case scenario that is natural but not reality. But the truth is there are over half a million survivors in the US alone and 3/4s are found while non invasive. By the way size of tumor does not mean a thing small tumors can be invasive and large non invasive until your pathology comes back you will not know for certain.

The only thing you need to worry about at the moment is to find the best place to go to get the best treatment. Not all doctors and hospitals even if known for cancer treatment are centers of excellence for bladder cancer. There is a tool on the main page that will show you what is close to you and how to get an appointment or let us know what state you are in and we will give you some pointers.

Take a big breath this is the hard part once you know what your diagnosis is you will have a battle plan right now anything seems possible and that is terrifying. I predict that it will not be long that we will be reading you posting to this forum words or encouragement to someone facing what you are facing now.

I know exactly how you feel. It is a little overwhelming right now. It will get better when you find that out that bladder cancer is very survivable. There are many here who can attest to that.

Please Please Please make sure you go to a Cancer Center or University Hospital that handles bladder cancer. If you need a guide to where to go, give us your location and one of the members on this site will give you some good Dr. who specialize in treating bladder cancer.

You are among a group of who have been through everything. We are here to offer everything from a shoulder to vent to, information on treatemnt and where to go for help.

NOTHING is out of bounds. If you want to express it....we want to hear it!

We are here for you!

First, take a deep breath. You ARE doing the right things...going online brought you to this web site and it has TONS of information....more than you can probably absorb right now.

Second, where are you located geographically? It is especially important that you go to a urologist who is experienced in dealing with bladder cancer (if indeed that is the problem.) Many urologists make a living treating prostate problems, and are not experts in bladder issues. There are people who moniter this forum who can give sound advice and where to find this kind of specialist.

Third, as you read through the information on this site, you will see that IT IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD. All of us felt just as you do now when we were first diagnosed. For the most part bladder cancer IS treatable and there are lots of people here who can help you.

Fourth, you do not have a definitive diagnosis yet. Just be sure that you are getting the best medical advice and treatment possible!

Good luck and keep good thought!!
