If you can get to that doctor that Pat mentioned that is WAY better.
He is a specialist in bladder cancer. While your urologist has lots of overall experience in all things urological and does deal with bladder cancer, you are better served by the doctors that specialize. Please trust us on this one.
Getting the whole tumor out the first time right is just one piece. The pathologists there will also be more experienced in staging and grading.
This is NOT going to hurt your doctor's feelings and it increases your probability of success in dealing with this (if it is cancer). Even if it isn't, the doctor at Penn will have more experience on a more regular basis doing the TURBT.
