Hi there, and welcome to the forum. I, like you, am new to this and only 36. From one relative youngster (outlier) to another, the journey is easier with the knowledge and friendships you build through this forum (and others). I look at this disease as a small black cloud in a large blue sky--the perspective given here helps. I wish you all the very best for a good outcome. Keep posting. V

Sorry to welcome you to the site. But WELCOME! You are on the right track for treatment with the TURBT and a 2nd on the way. The 2nd will verify of they got ALL of the cancer and you have clean margins, or you move on.

I was equally peeved when I found out. I didn't have any of the lifestyle factors that would lend themselves to bladder cancer, BUT, I HAD it. HAD being the lead phrase.

You will beat this. You will be changed, and some of the changes will be good.

Keep on fighting for yourself, and we will keep cheering you on. If you need information, it is here. If you need a shoulder to lean, cry, yell, scream on .... We are here and we know how it feels.

Sorry you joined the club. But you passed the initiation......... Damn

Welcome to the site. Sorry you had to join. It does help to keep a sense of humor and you find all kinds of variations of humor on this site. It certainly helps me.

Getting that follow up TURB is a common procedure as the first TURB is often understaged and sometimes they miss some the first time around.

I was in that less than 10% group that got CIS only without another regular kind of tumor so I do know what it's like to be in the low end numbers. Unfortunately, it always seems to work for things like this and not for lottery tickets. I guess I'd actually have to buy some to win though... :)

I certainly agree that this sucks. Hopefully, we can make it a bit less 'sucky' though because you will see that you aren't alone in all of this. There are over 500,000 bladder cancer survivors out there in world (quite a lot fewer of us here on the site). It's VERY treatable. The sooner it is caught, the better. Hopefully, you will fall into the non-invasive category.

One thing to know. Your test results are yours. You have access to get copies of everything and all you have to do is sign for them.

Some folks have found it helpful to keep a log of different tests, results, procedures, etc. You should also get a second opinion from a bladder cancer specialist at a major bladder cancer hospital if at all possible. Have your slides sent to them so their pathology department can double check them. Since they deal with it on a daily basis, they are better at it. Studies have confirmed this.

Did your urologist tell you the stage and grade from the first TURBT?

Look around the site and learn what you can. Ask anything and everything. We've been there and done that and are happy to help you by sharing our knowledge and experience.

Hello, Well as the story goes, I am 38 years old, started having blood in my urine with no Pain and no other symptoms, After a few times, dumped the general DR and went to a Urologist, He scheduled a scan, after the results call me in for a scope and verified a tumor. Had a Turbt on August 10th, Got results this past Thursday, It is cancer, it is the High Grade, Agressive form, (at least thats the words used) I have another Turbt Scheduled on Sept 8th, they want to go in again and get more Muscle tissue to test, (HOW FUN!) So As of right now it is still up in the Air on if it is invasive r Not!!!This Sucks! At least I can Say i am Special, being in the 1.5 % Age group, Just Joking!! Trying to make light of it so i don't drive myself crazy, seems light the news just gets worse and worse!! Did I mention that this really sucks!!!
