Hi Pat, he does about two a month. He performs mostly prostatectomies. The incision was below the umbilicus which was great for recovery and the nerve-sparring also worked a treat!
Mona.....thats really interesting...Dr. Wood did his residency at the Cleveland Clinic plus his fellowship at Memorial Sloan. I'd say those are great recommendations. Can i ask you if you ever ask him how many RC's he does in a year?
Pat
My husband had his RC at U of M. His surgeon was Dr David Wood and we were happy with the surgery and care he received. Dr Hafez is also well respected and deals more with the renal cancers at Pat mentioned.
Dr. Hafez specializes in renal surgery and cancers. He also worked under Dr. Inderbir Gill at The Cleveland Clinic as a fellow. I remember him as Cleveland is where i had my RC 6 yrs ago laproscopically by Dr. Gill.

Just my two cents worth, I saw Dr Hafez at University of Michigan, there are plenty of other reputable surgeons in urology there also, depends on what you need. I intially started with Dr Montie who referred me to Dr Hafez.
Since you're so close to Cleveland, Ohio which is right on the border of Michigan i would suggest the #2 Urological Center in the country..The Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Campbell is great. He also works with Dr. Inderbir Gill who is one of the best laproscopic surgeons in the world. my.clevelandclinic.org/staff_directory/7/Staff_6257.aspx
