Robm, seems your uro has a judgmental approach towards your diagnosis. You need support, compassion and empathy at this time .............. yes, smoking is possible, but as Rosemary says, not all people who are dx with bc have smoked.
Any chance you can get a second opinion and find a doctor you feel more comfortable with?
Yes, I had a 4 cm papillary tumor that was shedding dead tissue cells in lumps which also caused me pain and blocked my urine flow. You might inform your generalizing doctor that there are several people on this forum who have never smoked but have bladder cancer. I think we are 60/40. Rosie
#1-has anyone out there had a big tumor that was shedding dead tissue cells (according to my doctor it's doing this because the blood supply has been cut off)
#2-have any of you seattle residents heard of my doctor david c reed md --- i'm afraid our relationship is somewhat bad because he kept reffering to my smoking -- "all female bladder cancers are caused by smoking" when i asked how many female bc patients he treated per year he replied "well since you miss virginia slims became empowered my business has increased" -- tried to keep my cool - i'm afraid i wasn't very good at it.
thank you "miss Virginia Slim"
