I spoke with our urologist today. Mom was supposed to see him in 2 weeks, but since I have the path report, he was able to speak with me on the phone. He said we could resect here at our hospital or we could go on for the second opinion. I said I was very concerned and wanted to have the second opinion. He refers to Duke so they were going to set up an appointment with Dr. Cary Robertson. Well guess what!!!!! he had a cancellation for tomorrow afternoon. I am off tomorrow so off we will go. I am anxious about what he might tell us, but at least we are moving in the right direction. There have been alot of prayers said and I believe in answered prayer. I will post when we get home tomorrow.

I was very, very pleased with the Urological Surgeon, Dr. Raj Pruthi, and his staff at UNC Hospital. I saw Dr. Pruthi for my second opinion and the whole process was a very positive experience.

Hey Rene, I am here in NC too...I have not switched to a teaching hospital yet. but have friends that BC and they see a group at wake forest baptist hosp. They are very happy there. I think there are others in the forum that are at UNC Chaapel Hill. When I am finished with this round of BCG and if I have a reoccurance I will check out Wake. Duke is good also...we are very lucky in NC to have so many choices...but I agree with Karen about getting a second opinion.
