Rosemary et al,

This is what we are leaving as we head for warmer clims,

Time to go to "Zach country"! North Idaho is great during the spring, summer and fall. But, during the winter - this is getting old.

Best regards to all,

Rosemary,

Great photos! At the end of the month we leave for a California visit. We will be staying in the Big Sur country. I look forward to lighthouses and new photo opportunities. Thanks for sharing. :)

The Lighthouse

This lighthouse was built in 1869 and is still operational. The light flashes every 15 seconds for the aid of passing vessels and can be seen as far as 19 miles away...

A Day at the Cape...

I had an invitation by my sister and brother-in-law to take a ride in their boat over to Cape Lookout last weekend. I smelled a photo opportunity. What a beautiful day it was!!

When you are lucky enough to spend some time at the Cape on a day such as this, it is easy to forget about cancer, and doctors and bills, and worry. However, I have also spent a night at the Cape when a small gale suddenly appeared (known locally as a "mullet blow") and I've quickly had to download into survivial mode and had to literally pin my body against the stakes of my tent in order to keep my shelter from blowing away.

These are the Shackleford Ponies which have survived on the Shackleford Banks without shelter for over 400 years. These are the progeny of Spanish horses that swam to shore from an English vessel that met it's fate in the "graveyard of the Atlantic" long, long ago...
