Today was the second of my maintenance BCG sessions. After surviving a 1/3 dose last week, I informed the nurse that I would do the same today. When my urologist came to confer about it, we discussed all the options. Then went onto the computer to re-read Dr. Lamm’s most recent protocol as well as some others. Again discussed the issues. (I did 1/3.)

My uro told me that, in his practice with 5 other urologists, they currently “do their own thing” but are going to start getting together to standardize their thinking. Of course they will still each do what is best for their individual patients, but perhaps understand better why they do what they do. This month they are discussing BCG.

He is going to a conference next week where he will be speaking with Dr. Lamm. He told me that he really values me as a patient because all my questions keep him busy updating! (He meant this :) )

So, after having my 1/3 dose, I have spent a MOST uncomfortable afternoon.

Your Doctor sounds like a jewel. He listens to you and has been influenced in a positive way by your questions. I hope your discomfort is gone by tomorrow.
