    UTI at last visit – so no cysto

    So, I had no symptoms of a UTI, and it was quite a surprise to hear that news. My urologist couldn’t do the cysto on 9/30, which was a major disappointment. He put me on a seven day regimen of nitrofurotain which I finished two weeks ago, but I thought I might still have something going on. I saw my primary today, 10/19, as my uro doc is out of town. Today’s urinalysis showed microscopic blood and nitrites. He’s sending it out and will call me on Wednesday to let me know if it is indeed a UTI.
    Of course, I am thinking the worst because blood in my urine was the first indication of kidney cancer, which I did have in 2012. Sorry to vent, but this is not what I expected. I guess I should be used to bad news by now, as I have had four cancer diagnoses in the last 11 years.

    What a disappointment…and scary. Hoping for you that this is a UTI and not something more. I agree with your name…cancersucksbigtime.
