Urine culture showing suspicious cells
Completed 6 weeks gemcitibine, now urine shows suspicious cells. Will get another biopsy in Jan! when will it end!?! Venting now,, , ,,I’m hope the biopsy shows negative but might be……
Diagnosed Sept 2015 noninvasive
1st turbt Oct 3 2015, 2nd turbt Nov 13 bladder,
Completed 6 BCG initial treatments 01/11/16 02/09/16 No Cancer!
08/09/16 Cyto shows red spots on bladder, TURBT prostate scheduled
09/12/16 Cancer is back Ta prostate ,T1 high grade bladder papillary uthelial.
Cancer has invaded muscle getting RC.6 Replies-

5/2015 4x2cm HG Ta Papillary TCC; 6 initial BCG followed by 3 sets of BCG maintenance. Ten scopes – all NED. Now at scope 1x year.
I’m keeping a stiff upper lip and will await the biopsy, getting tired of lying on the slab but I’ve done it before guess I’ll do it again!

As I have been told by my uro, a false positive cytology test is very likely to see after a course of intravesical treatments with a chemo agent. The cystoscopy will give you a much more reliable picture of the situation.

Urine culture of Uring cytology? Not sure if uring culture can tell any cancer cells.

Keep thinking positive thoughts.
Cytology has lots of false results; I don’t even smile anymore when the cytology report is negative – I wait for the cystoscopy observation or the next biopsy report.I guess it is of value for some people under some conditions, and as a non-invasive screening tool, but not so much for me. At least obtaining the sample requires only a simple, natural act.
Enjoy the holidays. Take a break. Work it out next year.

That is really lousy!!! BUT remember that such urine tests are somewhat inaccurate…often showing positive results such as yours when they are not. Hoping that is the case.
