Since Feb 10th 2006 I have 3 surgery’s and now second round of BCG. I must say I do not feel sick nor different. I was told my tumor was one of the largest the DR has ever seen in 20 some yrs. I had a mess he said. I am lucky since the tumor and now tumors are in my muscles and not the wall. I have had infections from the cath and tired but nothing really tragic. I have had 3 surgery’s and more to come since the tumor was so large and shedded everytime I moved{who knows how long it was hanging out in there too}. I have the menopause going on{2 yrs now} and sick of the engulfed heat not once and awhile but like every 20 minutes. {NOTHING WORKS EITHER}  Over all I will admit I love my coffee-DR says you can have coffee limited.
I have cheated and smoked-stupid I know. I am blessed that a bag has not come into play yet. I truly do not see myself unloading trucks and stocking with a bag.
Scope 4 in Sept and surgery 95% will fail again DR stated. 4 tumors last time so
we shall see this time. bless you all for I accept this but feel I am a mild cancer personand really sometimes forget I am sick par say. thanks Star

Hi again Star. After my first TURB they waitd 3 weeks to start the BCG therapy. After the second TURB my doctor waited a month because he had cut a little deeper. Take care of yourself.

    Hello,

Why did it take six weeks to recover from the tumor surgery? Hopefully, that will not happen again. I had a TURB and biopsy on Dec 20th, and I went back to work on Dec. 26th, just because I had 2 days off at Christmas… My tumor filled up most of my bladder, but was fortunately Ta, Grade0… I had the CT before the surgery. Now I just wait six months and have another cystoscopy, and pray it hasn’t recurred. I am still in shock over all of it (I am 47 yr old female, non-smoker)…and am now a high-fiber, brocolli-eating, no-diet-soda, healthy food diabetic – tell me that isn’t hard!! Hey, perhaps now that we have cancer, we’ll live LONGER because we gave up other unhealthy things… at least it helps me to look at it that way.

I did have pain when I peed for a month after the surgery, but they said I was just slow to heal, since the biopsy went pretty deep. A warm wet atmosphere is not conducive to fast healing!

I hope your long recovery was a one-time thing, and from now on, you will only need a day or 2 off. Best of luck to you!

    Lauren
